The Hobbyfuser Gen 4
Don't be fooled by the name, the Hobbyfuser GEN4 is a serious glass kiln. The kiln is built for a long life span and we have no worries at all in issuing the kiln with a 4 year guarantee on all parts INCLUDING the elements.
When the kiln was in development it was run at 950°C and held for 1 hour over 40 times. At the end of the trial we stripped the kiln down and even we were amazed at the lack of deterioration we came across.
While we are on the subject of performance, The Hobbyfuser GEN4 does not suffer with the usual lazy, slow behavour associated with other large plug in kilns. Due to its high performance, infra-red quartz elements and well designed insulation, the Hobbyfuser GEN4 will make the all important 700c to 800c dash at a rate of nearly 450 degrees per hour even with the optional shelf installed. That is only 11 minutes and if a shelf is not used then that same dash can be made in an incredible 9 minutes. This makes the Hobbyfuser GEN4 almost infinately controlable ensuring the glass doesn't get "over-worked" by it being in the heat longer than is required.
The changes on this incarnation of the Hobbyfuser are very much hidden to the naked eye. The kiln is structurally identical to the Hobbyfuser 3 in every respect.
The big change is in the controller and the internal wiring. The GEN4 now uses the KCR32C which brings it inline with the rest of the "Fuser" family. This has required a full reworking of the kilns internal wiring and many components. These changes mean that the GEN4 can take full advantage of the Kilncare Gateway WIFI option which opens up a whole new way of kiln use.
The Hobbyfuser is one of the most energy efficient plug in kilns available with a standard full fuse using as little as 5 units of electricity. No other kiln can offer this type can match those the credentials which is becoming more and more important in these modern times.

Usage 5 Units per firing
The ECO-Fuser
The ECO-fuser is our most economical glass kiln to date.
It utilises Kilncare 2022 GX insulation system and will complete a standard full fuse using as little as 4 Units.
No other kiln can of this type can match those the credentials which is becoming more and more important in these modern times.
The ECO-fuser is designed to fulfil two requirements.
The first is to provide a plug-in kiln, with the same internal dimensions as the all-conquering Hobbyfuser, but with an easy load flat bed base.
The second is to provide ULTRA-efficient, low cost firing and by using GX insulation this is achieved.
The ECO-fuser will fire a standard fusing cycle on as little as 4 units of electricity without losing the performance features of the Hobbyfuser.
Usage 4 Units per firing
The Cub-Fuser
The Cub-fuser is not only the largest kiln available anywhere on a plug top but it is also one of the most efficient.
It utilises Kilncare 2022 GX insulation system and will complete a standard full fuse using as little as 6 Units.
No other kiln can of this type can match those the credentials which is becoming more and more important in these modern times.
The Cub-fuser is here to take its place as, what we believe to be, the largest 15 amp glass kiln in the world that will follow the recommended firing schedules of the major art glass suppliers.
This is done by combining ultra high tech materials with superior design methods.
The Cub-fuser has all of the features that have become expected from the "fuser" family and is basically a reduced width Pro-fuser. This allows customers with limited space, but larger requirements than the Hobbyfuser can supply, to fulfill their artistic potential.
Usage 6 Units
The Cub-Fuser Deep
The Cub-fuser utilises Kilncare 2022 GX insulation system.
The Cub-Fuser Deep matches the Cub-Fuser in nearly all areas. The difference here is that this model includes a recessed chamber, thus providing extra height internally. This is ideal for artists looking for deeper pieces and drop-out firings.
The Cub-fuser has all of the features that have become expected from the "fuser" family and is basically a reduced width Pro-fuser. This allows customers with limited space, but larger requirements than the Hobbyfuser can supply, to fulfill their artistic potential.
The Pro-Fuser
The Pro-fuser utilises Kilncare 2022 GX insulation system.
The step up from the Cub-Fuser, the Pro-Fuser has a much
larger chamber and a flat floor, allowing for easy loading on a
bigger scale than the smaller models.
The Pro-fuser has fantastic performance. Due to its high performance, infra-red quartz elements
and well designed insulation, like the Hobbyfuser 3, the Pro-fuser will also make the all important 700c to 800c dash at a rate of nearly 450 degrees per hour even with the optional shelf installed.
This makes the Pro-fuser almost infinitely controllable ensuring the glass doesn't get "over-worked" by it being in the heat longer than is required.
The Pro-Fuser Deep
The Pro-fuser Deep utilises Kilncare 2022 GX insulation system.
The Pro-Fuser Deep matches the Pro-Fuser in nearly all areas. The difference here is that this model includes a recessed chamber, thus providing extra height internally. This is ideal for artists looking for deeper pieces and drop-out firings.

15A Plug-in Supply
The ECO-Fuser comes with a standard 15A plug and lead, allowing for you to simply plug it into the wall and get firing without having to worry about getting the kiln hardwired in! This also makes relocation a lot easier as you will just need to make sure that wherever it is going to has a socket.
Flat Loading Floor
The floor of the ECO-fuser differs from the Hobbyfuser and brings "ECO" in line with it's big brother the Cub-fuser.
The floor is flat with the entirety of the height of the kiln being in the chamber, which lifts out of the way when loading.
This type of floor is preferred by many glass artists.
The floor is low density, high insulation refractory bricks and can have the internal shelf kit placed onto it if desired or the glass can be fired directly onto the floor of the kiln providing a separator is used to protect the bricks.
Quartz Element Heating System
The heating system is in the roof only and utilises the latest technology "infra-red" quartz tube heating elements. This method is extremely hard wearing and strong, yet in the event of an element failure the tubes are both easy and cheap to replace.
The elements are switched off when the lid is opened by an automatic safety switch.
Fibre Lid
The kiln lid is made from stainless steel and lined out with non-ceramic fibre, This method of insulation removes the danger of brick dust or particles dropping onto the glass, so making for a very clean firing environment. It also makes the ECO-fuser incredibly resistant to shock damage.
The capability of the ECO-fuser is due to the "super" backing insulation that makes the kiln ultra efficient and allows such a large capacity to be fired using so little power.
Fast Response Thermocouple
The KCR32C gets its data from an ultra-fast response, stainless steel thermocouple meaning no lag between the kiln temperature and the KCR32Cs control.
The fact that the thermocouple is stainless steel means it is also resilient to accidental damage.
Angled Vent Hole
The front of the kiln has a large vent/peep hole which is closed using a spring assisted flap which houses our unique, anti-dust insulation pad which is taken from our larger fusing kiln models.
The vent/peep hole is angled so that the floor of the kiln and more importantly, your glass, can be seen.
Stainless Steel chamber and base
Following the trend of the rest of the Fuser range, the ECO-fuser's chamber and base are stainless steel. This provides the kiln with a strong, resilient body that will be able to face the heat for much longer without the integrity of the metal becoming compromised due to rust.
Twin Gas Spring Lid Assist
Lifting the lid on the ECO-fuser is aided by a pair of specially designed gas springs that allow opening and closing of lid to be a single finger operation.
This makes the kiln completely user friendly but also helps in prolonged life due to the reduction of shock through "heavy" opening and closing of the lid.
Optional Stand
The ECO-fuser stand has two shelves, one for the kiln to sit on and one for your own use. It raises the kiln by 650mm to a comfortable height. It is made of steel and is powder coated in our Ultra-marine blue. The stand is supplied ready for assembly.
Optional Inner Shelf Kit
There is also the optional extra shelf kit which includes ceramic shelf, along with 4x 1inch posts.
Optional Wi-Fi capability
The optional KCR32C WIFI allows the user to access the kiln in real time from anywhere with internet access via the Kilncare GATEway on our website. The benefits of this are obvious as there is no longer the need to travel to the studio or work place to see how the firing is proceeding or if indeed the firing is going as planned.
Also in the GATEway, which is unique to each user via password access, there is a firings library where past firings can be stored and named, a notes section and a log amongst other features.
4 Year Warranty
The ECO-Fuser comes with a HUGE 4 year warranty that applies for all parts (inc elements)! The fact that we are able to offer such a long warranty on these kilns just goes to show how well made they are and how they are truly built to last.
