Silica - 350 Mesh (AU) BA780

The most common component used in glazes and bodies.
This material gives glazes their glassy appearance. It is available in various mesh sizes from 30, 200 & 350 mesh.
It raises the melting point of glazes, and decreases thermal expansion. By contrast, it will increase thermal expansion in clays.
Also known as Quartz or Flint.
